Mr. White was born in, Memphis, Tennessee, the thirteenth child of fourteen to George Edward and Hilda Louise (Burnside) Curtis is survived by his loyal, caring, loving wife Cathryn Louise White; proud father to Nicole Lysa (Cedric) Webster, and Malik Mansoor (Romesha) White, Grandfather and Great Grandfather to Jordan Alexander (Rory) Batchelor, and Great Grandson Jayden Batchelor; his three sisters, Helen Inez Hamilton (Willie), Mary Rose Lane, and Dorothy Dottie) Sanders, two sisters and brother-in law; Cynthia(Domenic),Renee (Timothy), and Michael Otto, JD (Mary Kay Hamilton). He has numerous nieces and nephews being awfully fond of :Emmitt, Ray, Angel, Lisa, Tanya, Yolanda, Karla, Marcellus, Tyrone, Eddie ,Jerroll, Tracie, Gary ,Derrick, as well as host of great nieces and nephews and cousins, Carolyn & Neil Chase , Cherished cousins, Mary Elizabeth Terrell and "Brother" Herman E. White (Veronica) Patricia Terrell who are especially close, grandson, Rantonio (Patrice), who worked alongside "Grand Dad" in his company, "Do It To Code" general contracting.
Curtis was a devoted husband to Cathryn. He is proceeded in death by his parents and in laws, Dale and Marylyn Otto, six brothers and four sisters: Ray, Ann, Taylor, George, Delores Whitten, Cara Jean Freeman, Betty Ruth, James, Leo, Marcellus, Charles, cousin; Herman E White (Veronica). During his youth, Curtis frequently reflected on his fondest memories with his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins, After receiving an education from Detroit Public Schools, within the culinary department at Chadsey High School, Curtis being a lifelong learner himself, believed in giving back to his community and became a great leader to many youth by participating in the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at a very young age and was a longtime member of the New St. Paul Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, led by his spiritual Father, Bishop Phillip A. Brooks (who proceeded him in death) . Additionally while relocating to Southwest Florida to enjoy one of his favorite sports, golf, Mr. White made many friends. He could be called a "Social Butterfly" as he dearly loved his church family at Hope Lutheran of Bonita Spring sand Pastor Richard Browning and First Lady, Tina Browning.
Mr. White served in the United States Air Force putting his life on the line and protecting our freedom as a Vietnam Veteran. He finally retired from General Motors and also owned several businesses, a landscaping company and salon. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
