Donnie Stevie "Steve" Qualls, affectionately known as "Buck", passed away peacefully on
January 21, 2025 in Bonita Springs, Florida of COPD at the age of 82.
He was born on December 4, 1942 in Hickman county Tennessee at the family homestead,
"Powder Mill." He was married for 62 years to the love of his life, Billie Sue. Together they built
a life lived with love and cherished memories in Romulus, Michigan.
He was a proud and loving father to his children, Norma Kay Macchia (John), and
Steven Eric Qualls (Yen), and loving grandfather to Mikal, Kyle, Hao, and Jessica.
Sadly, grandson Vincent, his first grandchild, proceeded him in death.
Buck had 13 siblings with three surviving him; Wanda, John, and Barbara.
Steve was a man of deep faith and that faith was made sight when he passed.
Steve now resides in his forever home in Heaven. A "Defender of the Faith" since 1984, Steve
never hesitated to share the love and the power of Jesus to forgive, change, and redeem all
who sincerely ask Him to be their Lord and Savior and then follow and obey Him.
Steve graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, MI.
From there his passion for the Spanish language opened up many opportunities in his life.
He worked at Ford Motor Company on the Brazil Project for a time, served as an interpreter on
mission trips that he and his wife went on, and taught Spanish in their neighborhood
communities.
Known for his inventive spirit and entrepreneurial drive, Steve's life was marked by creativity
and determination. Because of his love of nature and the outdoors he
especially enjoyed golng, shing, and riding his motorcycle with his wife.
Mr. Qualls will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love for his family, and zest for life.
