Obituary for Jose Luis Negron Sr.
Jose Luis Negron Sr., 83, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026. He was born on January 20, 1943, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, and spent most of his life in New York City, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, and dedication.
Jose devoted over 30 years of his career to New York’s garment district, where he was known for his strong work ethic, unwavering commitment to providing for his family, and his sharp sense of style. He was always well put together, carrying himself with a natural confidence and appreciation for fashion that reflected both his profession and his personality. Following his retirement, he relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida, where he cherished time with his loved ones and embraced opportunities to explore and enjoy life.
Though he was not a man of many words, when he spoke, his message was simple yet lasting: “Be happy, be heavy, and go forward.” This reflected his strength, resilience, and outlook on life. He had a love for adventure and sightseeing, always appreciating the chance to experience something new.
Jose was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Maria Negron, with whom he shared 63 beautiful years of marriage, and a proud father to his children, Jose L. Negron Jr. and his wife Jeanette Negron, and Miriam Mendez and her husband Anthony Mendez.
He was a cherished grandfather to Cynthia Sealy and her husband Anthony Benjamin Sealy, Eric James Negron and his wife Elise Abrego-Negron, and Alexi Justin Serrano.
He was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy: Kai Noah Serrano, Donovan Jose Sealy, Devon Anthony Sealy, James Joseph Negron, Landon Luis Negron, Sophia Rose Negron, Caleb Alexander Abrego, and Joel Anthony Abrego.
Jose will be remembered for his quiet strength, his enduring love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind through generations. His life was a testament to perseverance, love, and moving forward no matter what.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 7795 Davis Blvd, Suite 204, Naples, FL 34104.
"Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O Lord, faithful God." — Psalm 31:5
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
