The Naples Gathering
Starts at 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Kent L. Fisher, 82, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 2, 2026. He passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife and dear friend Steve by his side. Born in Rock Island, Illinois, on September 21, 1944, Kent was a wonderful brother, husband, dad, grandfather, and friend to so many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Cris; three children, Ryan (wife Wendy), Michelle (husband Ross), and Brandon (wife Julia); four grandchildren, Ryley, Ruby, Rose, and Holly; and four siblings, Keith, Sylvia, Sybil, and Valerie.
After graduating from Rock Island High School, where he lettered in basketball, Kent proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, earning a Sharpshooter Badge. Following his honorable discharge, he began a long career behind the wheel driving long-haul semi-trucks across Illinois and South Florida. Kent later turned to driving school buses for Collier County. For Kent, driving a school bus was a true calling. He brought endless patience to the wheel every morning, making sure every child on his route felt safe, protected, and cared for. By the time he retired in 2025, he was celebrated as the district's #1 bus driver.
In his free time, Kent embraced life's adventures, whether taking long motorcycle rides, jet skiing, or snowboarding in Colorado. A faithful member of The Naples Gathering, he lived as a constant example of Christ’s love, regularly ministering to others and lending a hand to anyone in need. He also cherished his morning routines, sharing laughs and stories over coffee with his close friends.
Kent often shared that he led a deeply blessed life—a sentiment echoed by all who knew him. He was surrounded by family who adored him, thrived in work he truly loved, and carried the faith of Christ in his heart every day.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at The Naples Gathering, located at 3001 Santa Barbara Blvd, Naples, FL 34116.
Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams.
He renews my strength; He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.
You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings.
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
